Community RunFest Route

Community RunFest Rayleigh takes place on Sunday 12 July 2026, starting and finishing at King George V Park, which will act as the central hub for the morning’s activities.

​

The event features a closed-road route designed to be safe, accessible and enjoyable for runners of all abilities. Participants can choose from three distances:

​

2.5K Children’s Run (4-11 Years, accompanied by an adult) One lap of the course, designed for primary school children. This race starts at 8:15am.

​

5K Run Ideal for first-time runners and families, completed by running two laps of the course.

​

10K Run A more challenging option, completed by running four laps of the course.

​

The 5K and 10K races both start at 9:00am.

​

All races take place on fully closed roads, with marshals positioned around the course to ensure a safe and well-supported experience for everyone taking part.

​

Road closures will be in place for the duration of the event, with roads beginning to reopen from 10:45am.

​

Whether you’re taking on your first event or aiming for a new personal best, Community RunFest Rayleigh route offers a friendly and supportive environment for runners of all ages and abilities.

Temporary Road Closure Information

To ensure the safety of all participants, there will be temporary road closures in and around the Rayleigh area during the event. 

​​

Roads that will be closed;

​

  • Eastwood Road (Between Queens Road and High Street)

  • Queens Road

  • High Street (Between Eastwood Road and Church Street)

  • Bellingham Lane

  • London Hill (Between Bellingham Lane and Church Street)

  • Church Street​​

​

Other roads affected by the above closed roads but not limited to:

 

  • King Georges Close

  • Finchfield

  • Britton Court

​​

These roads will begin to close from 6:00am on the morning of Sunday, 12 July 2026, and will start to reopen from 10:45am.

​

The authorised highways contractor will reopen the closed roads in a safe and controlled manner once they are satisfied that all runners have cleared the route and all safety requirements have been met.

​

If you need to use your vehicle during the event and are affected by the road closures, we recommend using alternative parking from Saturday 11th of July.

 

Parking is FREE from 1pm on Saturday and FREE all day Sunday at the following car parks:​​

​

  • Websters Way Car Park

  • Castle Road Car Park

  • The Market Car Park â€‹â€‹
