COMMUNITY RUNFEST FAQ's

When does the race start?

  • 2.5K Fun Run Start Time: 8:30 AM

  • 5K & 10K Start Time: 9:00 AM

Who can participate?

  • Fun Run –  Children aged 4-11 years

  • 5k – 12 years +

  • 10k – 16 years +

How do I register and is there a fee?

To register for the event, please follow the link provided. There is a fee to take part in the 5K and 10K runs. The 2.5K Fun Run is free to enter; however, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I cancel/get a refund?

No, If an event is cancelled due to reasons beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, pandemics), they will attempt to reschedule. if you are unable to attend this event, no refund will be given.

Community RunFest reserves the right to amend or cancel events, including changes to time, date, venue, or fees

What should I bring on the day?

The secure baggage area will be available within the park for participants to store their belongings during the duration of their run.

The race route takes place through the streets of Rayleigh, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

Will I receive a race number, and when?

If your child is taking part in the 2.5K Fun Run, please register them online in advance. Wristbands can then be collected from the registration tent on the day of the event.

 

Participants registered for the 5K or 10K races will receive their race number by post up to a specified date. Entries received after this date will need to collect their race number from the registration tent on the day, prior to the race start.

Is there a route map?

Are there water stations?

Water stations will be positioned along the running route, and additional water will be available from vendors within the park.

A variety of food vendors and stalls will also be present on the day for participants and spectators to enjoy.

Can I bring friends or family to watch?

Absolutely, we encourage participants to bring along friends and family to support and cheer them on throughout the event. Their encouragement helps create a fantastic atmosphere and makes the day even more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Will I receive my race time?

Both the 5K and 10K runs will be officially timed, with results and placements available on our website following the even

Will I receive a medal?

Participants in the 5K and 10K races will receive a medal upon completion. Medals will not be awarded for the 2.5K Fun Run

What if my chip and number doesn’t arrive by post in time for the event?

The cut off to receive your number and chip is generally 3 weeks before the event starts. If registered after this, you will need to collect your information from the registration tent within King George Park in advance of the run starting at 9am.

I have registered my child for the fun run, what do I need to do on the day?

Prior to the race starting at 8:30, you will need to visit our registration tent to collect your child(ren) wristbands and to sign in.
